May 1, 2026

The SPLM National Secretariat hosted a productive consultative session at the SPLM Plaza to enhance the working relationship between the party and the national government.

The meeting was chaired by Cde. Baba Medan Konyi, the Second Deputy Secretary General for Administration and Finance. Joining the discussions were the Minister of Finance and Planning, Hon. Salvatore Garang Mabiordit, and the Minister of Parliamentary Affairs, Hon. Dr. Wek Mamer. Following the session, the Secretary for Political Affairs and Mobilisation, Cde. Ambassador John Andruga Duku, informed the press that the meeting focused on routine yet essential dialogue between the Executive and the SPLM leadership. He noted that these conversations ensure that government actions remain closely connected to the party’s promises to the people. By bringing together the leadership of finance and parliamentary affairs, the party is ensuring that the needs of citizens are prioritised in both national budgeting and legislative planning. A major highlight of the meeting was the preparation for the upcoming May 16 anniversary. As the party approaches the 43rd year of its liberation journey, the leadership emphasised the need for a celebration that reflects national unity and honours the sacrifices made during the struggle. The anniversary serves as a reminder of the party’s historic responsibility to serve the nation with dedication and transparency. The Secretariat remains committed to these regular engagements, which foster teamwork and a shared sense of purpose between the party and the cabinet. Today’s meeting underscores the SPLM’s focus on practical governance and its commitment to delivering a better future for every South Sudanese citizen.
