SPLM SG Meets Leaders From Five Counties of Upper Nile to Discuss Party Preparations and Reorganization

August 24, 2026

The SPLM Secretary General, Cde. Dr. Akol Paul Kordit, officially received a regional group and delegation led by Hon. Cde. Stephen Diu Dau, Member of the Political Bureau and Leader of the Group. Following the high-level meeting, Hon. Cde. Stephen Diu Dau addressed the media to brief reporters on the consultations, which convened representatives from the five key counties of Renk, Akoka, Maban, Melut, and Baliet.

These sessions focused on reinforcing party structures, aligning local branches with national objectives, and evaluating ongoing mobilization efforts, underscoring that these strategic counties remain foundational pillars of the SPLM where party leadership has agreed to deepen cooperation to harmonize activities at the grassroots level and consolidate community support ahead of the electoral process.

To achieve this, the party is prioritizing structural cohesion by strengthening administrative collaboration across all regional branches, driving grassroots engagement through mobilizing cadres to connect directly with local communities, and fostering visionary unity under the guiding philosophy of one party, one people, and one nation. Building on this institutional renewal, leadership continues to champion the mandate that returning to the grassroots is vital to ensuring total community preparedness and alignment.

"Our next phase of reorganization relies on working together, reaching deeply into the grassroots, and guiding our people forward into a unified future of one party, one people, and one nation," noted the Secretariat in outlining the strategic vision for community-led political mobilization.

The Secretariat remains committed to ensuring every party organ is fully prepared, disciplined, and strategically positioned to deliver a resounding mandate in the forthcoming elections.
