SPLM Chairman Comrade Gen. Salva Kiir Mayardit Receives Briefing from Party Leadership on Reorganization Primaries and Congresses

The Chairman of the Sudan People's Liberation Movement (SPLM) and President of the Republic of South Sudan, Comrade General Salva Kiir Mayardit, met today with SPLM First Deputy Chairperson Cde. Prof. James Wani Igga, SPLM Second Deputy Chairperson Cde. Mary Apai Ayiga, Third Deputy Chairperson Cde. Simon Kun Puoch, the Secretary General, Comrade Dr. Akol Paul Korditand SPLM Member of Political Bureau Cde. David Yau Yau for productive briefing sessions on the progress of ongoing party primaries and congresses across all states and the three administrative areas.

During the meeting, Secretary General Dr. Akol Paul Kordit provided a comprehensive update on party activities and public participation in the SPLM primaries and congresses. The ongoing exercises serve to streamline internal democratic processes, revitalize party structures, and engage members across the country.

Comrade Chairman Gen. Salva Kiir Mayardit welcomed the detailed reports and commended the Deputies and the Secretary General for their dedication and steadfast leadership. He expressed his sincere appreciation to the party leadership for executing the directives aimed at reorganizing the SPLM structure to renew its leadership and strengthen party cohesion from grassroots level upto  National level.

These high-level engagements reaffirm the SPLM’s firm commitment to internal democracy as the party conducts peaceful, transparent primaries and congresses ahead of the upcoming national elections.
